Description

Verdo Pini-Kay Hardwood Oak Briquettes provide high heat output, a long burn time of approximately 2hrs, contain low levels of ash and are a cleaner easier to use product to warm your home than traditional logs. Our oak briquettes are energy efficient and an eco-friendly alternative to traditional logs made using waste sawdust from the sawmill industry. Briquettes are also known as heat logs and are ideal for all types of fires.

Buying a full pallet of our Hardwood Oak Pini-Kay Briquettes offers you great value for money. You will receive 96 packs of 12 hardwood oak briquettes, that’s 1152 individual high quality heat logs and the price includes VAT and delivery to the majority of the UK*!

Verdo Hardwood Oak Briquettes contain only 100% FSC approved sawdust. No chemicals are used to bind the sawdust in the compression process so they are safe to burn in the home, plus the minimal amount of ash left behind after burning is suitable for use in the garden as fertiliser.

Each dense briquette contains between 5 - 7% moisture, this provides a longer and more even burn than traditional logs, a more efficient way to keep your home warm! You can break up the briquettes to help get a fire going or use them whole to benefit from approximately 2hrs burn time.

Verdo Pini-Kay Oak Hardwood Briquettes contain a very low moisture content of up to 7%, this makes them easy to burn and will provide an even fire. Initially our briquettes produce a beautiful flame then fade into a warm glow for optimal heat output. Our Briquettes are safe for open fires as they do not expand when burning, unlike some lower cost options, this is due to the density of the briquette.

I purchased the pinikay sample packs as I was interested in comparing the two side by side, being a chimney sweep I compare most types of heat logs on the market so I am able to give my customers the best advice on which fuels provide a good mix of performance and economy, I have several multifuel stoves but to compare the two I used my woodwarm foxfire 4 one of the best small stoves on the market. I placed a piece of vermiculite in the centre of the stove to ensure my comparison was factually accurate. One side I used the pine the other the oak, I found both easy to light clean to handle with similar heat outputs and burn duration but for me the oak is the clear winner as although it's slightly harder to light than the pine I like how the release of energy is controlled, leading to a cleaner slightly longer burn with almost no smoke, due to the fact they are so dry you must not overload the stove, they produce much more heat than standard logs so go steady, they are hard and dense but it's easy to tap and break them up, I use them alongside standard logs just adding a couple of pieces at a time gives similar benefits to adding some smokeless fuel with your logs but with none of the associated risk to stainless liners that can come from mixing fuels, so to summarise these if purchased as a full pallet are easy to store and great value, why not buy a full pallet and split it with a friend who also has a stove.
